Reports of Yellowfin around the bait station north of Sydney.
Chloe Roberts found Yellowfin fishing with the Gorecki’s north of Sydney in about 1000 fathoms north of Heatons Hill.
Blackfish and Drummer have been prominent around the rocks with reports from all up the coast of them being caught. Andrew Smith fished off the stones at Kurnell recently for a catch of Drummer as he watched a few whales glide up the coast on their annual run.
Justin Ewan scored this very solid 19kg winter Kingfish off Sydney a few days ago.
Xavier did well over the weekend fishing out of his kayak in Sydney chasing Kingfish. He caught 7 in total on Saturday and another nice fish on Sunday all using his Saragosa 5000 paired with a TD Sol 4-9kg rod and 30lb braid.
John and Terry fished the washes using the Money Bait Egu Jig Trailer Soft Plastics with plenty of luck on the Snapper and Bream, but there were other reef species and bait (slimies) hitting them too. They used 3.5 to 5g #2 jig heads in the washes, and 1/16th #2 jig heads for the Bream along a rock wall. They were casting them out and letting them sink down through the wash, and then giving it the occasional double or triple twitch to stop it from hitting the bottom for the Snapper. For the Bream they’d do the same except leave it on the bottom a little longer before hopping it along.
Huw fished down south off Batemans Bay earlier in the week for a good catch of Snapper. He fished with ET for one of his future fishing episodes using soft plastics and had a great session not far offshore.
Jake Brisbane fished with Joel Oliver a few days ago in 500 fathoms off Kiama for this nice Yellowfin Tuna that went 53kg.
