Sydney & Wollongong Fishing Report

Lots of Kingfish coming out of Sydney at the moment both offshore and inshore.

Mike Bonicci has been doing well lately, him and the crew landing some nice Kingfish, Snapper and even a nice Striped Marlin.

Justin Ewan with another cracking Sydney Kingfish speared out of a school of even bigger fish. This one went 19.8kg.

Plenty of Kings being pulled from Sydney Harbour over the last week too, Roman and Xavier both getting their share.

Botany Bay has been fishing well with kingfish being taken off the surface on lures and also on soft plastics down deeper. Reports of Jewfish caught on soft vibes out of the Bay, and also flathead up to 70cm caught near Towra Point on plastics.

Snapper have been caught more frequently over the last week or so pretty well anywhere up and down the coast.

Chris Cleaver managed a couple of nice fish yesterday and there’s been more reports of good numbers caught off Wollongong on plastics.

Down further south Andrew fished with his boy Tex and his mate Murray over the weekend, the trip resulting in 9 Snapper and a 900g king george whiting. The Shimano Baku Baku 100g caught the biggest of them all, and the Catch Beady Eye Kabura 120g was the other weapon of choice.

Mitch went diving down south for a couple of monster crays almost 1kg each.

Reports of kingfish being caught off the banks down at Currarong.

Inshore has been firing up as the weather has warmed. Ian landed his PB flatty in Lake Illawarra on a Samaki Vibelicious Fork Tail Soft Vibe, the fish going 90cm.

Angus Cochrane landed a couple of nice whiting on surface lures last week, the Jackson Ebi Panic and the Bassday Sugapen doing the trick.

One of our Taren Point customers also landed a nice whiting using the Sugapen on Sunday.

John has a nice session in the other morning using plastics and a Samaki Vibelicious Fork Tail Soft Vibe landing a mixed bag of jewfish, flathead and snapper.

Bass are also getting feistier as the days go on, Terry had a great session using the Pygmy Area Crank Lure bagging a heap of very fat fish.

Down south Jay managed a nice little Bass himself using his crisp new outfit, the Trout Tune Lipless landing him the fish.

Reports from a while away… Tom Harriman has been slaying GT from the shore.

Mitch also had a trip up to Hamilton Island, scoring himself and a few locals a great feed of reef dwellers.
