Sydney & Wollongong Fishing Report
Kurt Kiggins with a cracking yellowfin caught off Sydney a few days ago. Him and the crew were among a massive mix of sunfish, whales, sharks and tuna jumping out and smacking garfish, which got them casting out instead of trolling. 1.5hrs and a 1 broken gaff later they managed to land this beast!
Checch with a nice 51kg Yellowfin Tuna that smacked his topwater stick bait while fishing just south of the Hacking. He’s had a few great days out chasing yellowfin and going 21-14-12!
John took Joel from Shimano out this morning in the Port Hacking River for a nice catch of Kingfish and Jewfish on fresh squid caught earlier. Joel managed two great jewfish, one went 105cm and the other went 82cm. John also managed this solid 85cm King.
Jackson Sweet is pictured with one of three salmon taken from the hacking off his boat using a Slug-go soft plastic. He rigged and 6” Slug-go with a 1/4oz jig head and constantly whipped the rod tip for the retrieve, the 9” Slug-go he rigged with an unweighted weedless hook and used a big sweep and pause retrieve, both getting the job done.
Gary from St George and Sutherland Shire Anglers fished out the front of Botany Bay and landed this cracking snapper that went almost 60cm.
Xavier with a nice Skipjack Tuna caught a couple of days ago just off Manly out of the boat. He also managed this solid Bream in Sydney Harbour using a Cranka Crab.
Steve fished in about 50m of water just south of the humps and managed this solid 70cm red. He fished with a Shimano Terez Wax Wing 7’2” rod, a Stradic 4000 and 20lb line using a Squidgies Fish 100mm Soft Plastic in black and gold.
Joel and Jet fished off Port Kembla today and managed a few nice fish on the troll, a few yellowfin tuna and a nice dolphinfish.
Kaden Bazaz with a few good lobbies caught out of Shellharbour a few days ago. Reports are there are plenty around all over at the moment.
Zac Forst managed a nice mixed bag of crustaceans on a solo dive down south; 2 slipper lobsters, 2 eastern rock lobsters and 2 abalone.
Mitch fished with Jesse Price in Jervis Bay yesterday morning for a few nice fish, this snapper being one of them caught on the Hayabusa Kick Bottom 80g Inchiku Jig.
Three snapper were caught off Jervis Bay recently on the Jackson G-Control. The angler was letting them sink down and then retrieving them slowly because on a slow retrieve they wobble quite a bit more than when reeled in quickly.
