The Jackson Artist FR HW Lure is the heavyweight cousin of the Jackson Artist FR Lure. It has the exact same action and can be used in the same way, but its heavier weight allows further casts and a faster sinking rate, which means it's better for deeper waters, stronger currents, and areas that require longer casts.
The 'FR' in the Artist's name stands for 'Fast Retrieve', which is what these lures were originally designed for to chase fast-moving pelagic species. So of course, a fast retrieve works wonders when chasing species off the rocks or out of the boat in shallow offshore conditions. However, these lures also work great in estuary systems for species like flathead, jewfish, and tailor with a slightly slower retrieve, or even by hopping the lure along the bottom with pauses in between.

Along with its slightly larger cousins, the FR70 and FR80, the Jackson Artist FR65 HW is easily our very best and most versatile Flathead lure on the market today. Due to its fast sink rate for such a small profile lure, it allows easy access to the bottom, where flathead are hiding in ambush, in a huge variety of estuary depths and drop-offs. Their head-weighted balance and clever bib action create a perfect resemblance to a bottom-feeding small bait fish when the retrieve is slow, fast, twitched, or paused. The most popular Flathead action is to twitch it 30cm up and down along the bottom whilst retrieving. If you are drifting in a boat quick enough (or slowly peddling a kayak), you may not need to retrieve at all as you twitch it along the bottom. To add to the excitement of this lure, it has also already accounted for Jewfish as an unexpected bycatch on light tackle. The Jackson Artist FR55 comes rigged with two super sharp and quite strong #12 trebles to complete its classy premium quality.

We strive to get our orders out as quickly as possible. To have your order sent out the same day, order by 9am and select 'Jump The Queue' at checkout to push your order to the front of the order processing pile. Orders that cannot be processed same day include orders with bulky items that require shipping via courier, international orders, or orders with missing items.
Orders containing bulky or oversized items are sent with a courier and picked up from our store one business day after we process them.
For orders with missing items, we may be able to transfer them from our second store location which can take between 1-2 business days. If this happens with your order, we will contact you asap to let you know of the delay.
We do not send items on weekends or public holidays, except during the weeks leading up to Christmas. Thus, items ordered on Friday after 9:30 am will be sent on Monday.
