Shimano Twin Power XD Spin Reel

The Shimano Twin Power XD Reel has been redesigned and refined to set a new standard in saltwater durability. Made in Japan and suited to inshore light jigging and lure casting. The Micro Module Gear II and Silent Drive makes the gearing extremely silent and smooth. The main Hagane Gear provides strong cranking power and X-Protects provides superior saltwater resistance. The redesigned Long Stroke Spool provides improved casting distance and the new MGL Rotor delivers ultra-light friction-free rotation. Ci4+ carbon reduces weight by 35 to 55 grams when compared to the original Twin Power XD from 2017 and the aluminium Hagane Body provides rigidity. Featuring a Cross Carbon Drag system that outputs up to 11kg and all models are fitted with upgraded power handle knobs.

• MGL Rotor - The new Twin Power XD features the redesigned Magnumlite Rotor that delivers ultra-light, almost friction-free rotation, enabling you to control the retrieve with ultimate precision and sensitivity.
• XProtect - X-Protect was developed for stopper bearing protection in the previous model and provided high-level waterproofing. The new Twin Power SW employs X-Protect for its line roller as well and further improves its waterproofing performance. The new structure protects bearings inside the line roller from the harsh saltwater environment, and bearing durability is ten times greater than conventional designs. As a result of comparison tests by Shimano.
• Micromodule II - The surfaces of the drive gear and pinion gear have been analysed and updated from the ground up in pursuit of perfection. Starting from an already industry-leading standard, reduced reel noise and even smoother gear feeling has been achieved.
• Hagane Gear - The Hagane Gear is produced by applying approximately 200 tons of pressure to the raw metal through a unique technology called Precision Cold Forging. Delivered with micron accuracy, no cutting work is involved. Hard and tough, the Hagane Gear has high durability and delivers smooth winding.
• Hagane Body - The Hagane Body chassis is made of highly rigid aluminium alloy. It eliminates flex, warp and distortion of the reel, and protects the engagement of gears inside. This allows for smoother winding.
• Long Stroke Spool - The long stroke spool design improves casting performance when compared to the previous model due to the improved line flow from the spool.
• Silent Drive - Silent Drive is the result of removing even he smallest of gaps within the internal structure of the reels, resulting in a smoother reeling experience and less handle play.
• XShip - In addition to an enlarged drive gear, optimum positioning of the pinion and drive gears, and two-point support of the pinion gear whose ends are supported by bearings, all these mechanisms deliver robust gear engagement. The X-Ship system permits smooth winding, even under heavy loads.
• G-Free Body - G-Free technology has been developed to shift the reel’s centre of gravity closer to the rod. Having the centre of gravity closer to an anglers hand position, we reduce fatigue and enhance casting distance.
• S A-RB - Shielded anti-rust bearings are the best Shimano offer in saltwater protection and smooth reeling performance.
• One Piece Bail - The seamless one-piece design allows line to travel unimpeded and reduces friction.
• AR-C Spool - The V-shaped lip design ensures the line comes off most efficiently when casting.

Shimano Twin Power XD C5000XG Reel

Model Type:Inshore and Offshore High-Speed Model

The Twin Power C5000XGA has the same size body as the 4000XGA but runs a deeper spool for larger line capacity. It runs the same 6.2:1 ratio and 11kg of drag but will hold more line for those big fights. It's perfect for use offshore and from the land chasing those species that love a fast retrieve.
