Sydney & Wollongong Fishing Report

Kingfish are being caught in the Port Hacking River. John did well to land a nice king after 15-20mins of fighting it on 4lb line. He fished over some broken ground with the Jackson Bottom Magic rigged with assist hooks.

John also fished the Hacking over the weekend with his mate Con who now loves the Bottom Magic lure after using it successfully for the first time. Bream and salmon were among the fish caught.

Jewfish caught near the entrance to the Cooks River in Botany Bay on both lures and baits recently. Also good numbers of flathead caught in the bay on plastics.

Grayson Hinrichs speared this monster 31kg Kingfish off Sydney just the other day.

Decent sized schools of Kingfish are being found in front of the Sydney heads.

Large salmon schools have been sighted of Merries Reef in Cronulla.

George has been doing well around Sydney lately, he managed to find Yellowfin off Sydney just today. He also took his nephew Lewis out fishing late last week in middle harbour who caught his first Kingfish, and at 70cm it’s a great start!

Some late season yellowfin tuna are still swimming around, reports of a few caught in just 300 fathoms yesterday and more caught today in 500 fathoms of water off Port Kembla.

Josh Robbins fished the Hacking yesterday for a quick kayak session and managed this nice Kingfish using the Jackson Hata Craw soft plastics in colour CHR.

Roman is pictured with a nice trevally he caught in Sydney Harbour using Ecogear ZX30 blades. He also managed a couple bream and a flathead earlier that day.

Mitch caught a couple of nice flathead on the high tide at Kurnell using a Jackson Pygmy Shad and the Firebait Longtail Minnows in colour 05.

Bass being caught in numbers after the rain we had down in our southern Illawarra suburbs. They’ll be hanging down deeper until the weather and water warms up and the cicadas come out to play, so use sinking minnows and plastics with a bit of weight in the deeper holes.

Ian fished St Georges Basin on Tuesday and managed a few fish around midday once the water temp rose a little using vibes.
