Sydney & Wollongong Fishing Report

Jett Legge is pictured with a couple of cracking Kingfish he caught late last week spearfishing off the Wollongong area. The biggest of the fish caught went 14kg.

Both Kingfish & Snapper are present up and down the coast with many anglers getting out and about over the weekend. The Kingfish in particular are thick & healthy.

There is more & more bait being caught and spotted in the water lately, a good sign for those chasing bigger fish. With the rain we have had and the swell that’s come, don’t be surprised if a Jewfish or 2 stir up in close.

Plenty of Squid being caught around rocky Wollongong outcrops like the harbour and lighthouse.

There are good amounts of Drummer in the washes at the moment. The St George and Sutherland Shire anglers club held their annual Drummer comp last Sunday with most anglers doing well. Best for the day was Glen Daniels with 8 Drummer for 7kg.Plenty of Blackfish, Bream and Trevally were also caught on the day.

Taren Point Customers Gavin and Dan headed out to Browns on Tuesday in search of Blue Marlin, but ended up with a nice Yellowfin Tuna caught on the shotgun lure.

Some good Flathead caught in 40m of water off Jibbon Bommie lately.
