Fishing Report

Now’s the time for big Winter Drummer and Bream off the stones. Reports of a few nice Drummer caught around Kurnell in the washes with good sized Bream in the mix too, however you should find them all along the coast in similar areas with similar washy conditions.

There’s some big swell on its way with Monday being the peak of it, which will churn up the bait and crustaceans along the rocks and inshore reefs nicely, ready to fish by about Wednesday arvo if the forecast holds true.

A few very nice Squid are still being caught in Port Hacking, the deeper waters around the entrance is a good place to start. The Hayabusa Squid Jigs have been working their magic around here.

Even with the colder water temperatures around, Kingfish are still being caught close to the cliffs near Marly on the troll. A 15kg+ king was speared off Kiama’s boat harbour too just the other day.

Snapper have been caught off Coogee on soft plastics and while slow jigging.

Offshore around Browns, many anglers are targeting sharks that are feeding on Gemfish with Makos, Blues and Whalers being some of the main targets.

Josh Robbins had a little flick with his new Trout Tune Lipless on the way home from work the other day and had some luck with Flathead and Flounder (pictured).

Rex had some fun in the shallows down Minnamurra way using the Ebi Panic surface popper/stickbait hybrid.

There’s a lot of Salmon schooling off the beaches at the moment.

Further north now, local Fergo’s customer Andrew Burke participated in the annual Dave Irvine Memorial Snapper Classic and won the biggest Snapper, measuring a whopping 96.5cm.
